How this calculator models every transaction
Every gateway's published fee schedule has up to four components. The calculator applies all of them to compute your true effective rate.
Percentage rate
The headline variable rate (e.g. 2.9% on cards or 0.5%–1.0% on instant A2A and mobile money rails).
Fixed per-transaction fee
A flat charge added to every sale. A $0.30 fixed fee is 0.1% on a $300 order, but 3.0% on a $10 micro-transaction.
Maximum fee caps
Where providers cap the variable fee on large tickets (such as Paystack in NGN or M-Pesa Lipa Na in KES), the cap is applied automatically.
International card surcharge
Toggling "International card" adds the provider's published cross-border card surcharge (e.g. +0.8% in Canada vs +1.5% in the US).
